Scarecrow Trail 2020 – Heroes

In 2020 we had to cancel our Fun Day because of the Covid restrictions and Rachel Marshall (herself a hero!) suggested a Scarecrow Trail in the village, so everyone could get out and about whilst avoiding close contact with others. This turned out to be a great success and we thank everyone who took part – so many excellent scarecrows which hundreds of villagers and visitors enjoyed finding over the weekend. Everyone who returned the trail maps voted for their favourites and the deserved winner (£50) was Linda Cullumbine’s Captain Tom with 72 votes. Second place (£30) was Mya Marshall’s Florence Nightingale with 39 votes and Third prize (£20) goes to Sarah Howard for her Community Heroes with 30 votes. The £25 prize for correctly identifying the most scarecrows goes to Ailsa Garside. Huge thanks to Rachel Marshall for organising it and we will be doing it again on the weekend of 3 and 4 July 2021 with the theme BOOKS!
